Fundraising for EDU'KENYA this week-end

Une motivation de 15 bénévoles autour d'EDU'KENYA pour une collecte dans un Franprix parisien vendredi 18 et samedi 19 octobre. Nos partenaires : Microdon, Franprix, la Macif, Ville de Paris. Merci à tous. 


It's new, it happens in a supermaket, 15 volunteers are giving energy and time. Our partnerships are Microndon, Franprix, Ville de Paris, Macif. The goal is to collect money at the entrance of a supermarket. See pictures.Well done and a big thanks to the team.

Une première : collecte au profit de l'association

Les 18 et 19 octobre, l'association EDU'KENYA en partenariat avec Microdon, la MACIF, Franprix et la ville de Paris, entreprend sa première animation sur la place de Paris. En l'occurrence nous serons présents au Franprix du 30 fbg du Temple 75011 pour distribuer des cartes qui si elles sont passées à la caisse et grâce au code barre rapporteront 2€ à l'association. Il faut donc 350 donateurs ces jours là pour offrir une seule tournée mensuelle du bibliobus. Venez nous rejoindre, donnez deux heures ou tout simplement venez faire vos courses ce samedi là dans ce petit supermarché, histoire de nous soutenir.

Vente d'artisanat à Lherm : the dream team

Handcraft sale and communication in Lherm

7th of july by the river Lot : 12 volunteers from EDU'KENYA were ready to promote the association, sale handcraft and to communicate about the NGO. 

12 bénévoles au rendez-vous, dans le cadre du vide-grenier de Lherm pour assurer la promotion de l'association auprès de la communauté anglophone du Lot et proposer de l'artisanat à la vente. De belles rencontres, des dons de livres et quelques déceptions côté intérêt pour notre stand.

Time for reading

41kg of books were sent to Busia and EDU'KENYA 's library. A lot of pupils in 7 over 12 schools were able to lent a book for a month. They liked it. One teacher, Mercy from Victory Junior Academy explained : The pupils have enjoyed the story books.It has boosted their creativity and spoken english.We are greatful.Oneother teacher, Judith, from Township said : My pupils enjoyed Journey to Jo'burg. They are already waiting for a book from the same author.

Somewhere else, we experimented a new service : pupils from class 4 were sent with their teacher to Busia Community Library instead of waiting for their time in the timetable of the mobile library. Esther was happy to welcome them. A good habit is taken. A lot of the pupils will come back on their own to .....READ!!!!!

Encore et toujours plus de livres

Sous le regard bienveillant de la Vierge de Fénelon-Sainte Marie, les collectionneuses, Agathe et Pascale ont récupéré deux cartons de baby books en anglais, albums neufs, don de l'APEL (Association des Parents d'Elèves de l'Enseignement Libre) de l'établissement scolaire à la fin de la kermesse du 21 avril 2013. Et voilà....
Ils s'ajoutent à ceux récupérés dans la région de Cahors par deux bénévoles, Ghislaine et Mylène, auprès de la communauté anglaise du Lot.
Merci pour tous ces ouvrages pleins d'histoires...

Following the rainbow.... 2 volunteers found some more books at the school charity of Fénelon Sainte-Marie school/Paris : two boxes of baby books in english.  Thank You. We add them to the ones collected by the river Lot, South of France, given by the english community, down there. Thank you!
