To Alacock, Fridah, Pius, Esther, Aliette, Jasmine, Freddy, Maria, Jean-Benoit, Valerie, Nathalie-Anne, Sophie, David, Elisabeth, Fred ... for their help and welcoming in Kenya, Nairobi and Busia. We have made together progress in EDU'KENYA's programm, meeting so many people, receiving so much support, sharing laughts and serious discussions. I can tell you we are nearly touching the sky.

After this nice and long stay in Kenya, I (Astrid) am feeling hopefull (and health is better)!

Etre ou ne pas être dans Nairobi/ To be or not to be downtown Nairobi

C'est la question! Les rendez-vous à l'Alliance française ou à l'ambassade, au ONG bureau pour le certificat d'inscription, la gare des bus sont tous en centre ville. Bruyant, poussiéreux, embouteillé, il faut en comprendre les fonctionnements et se plier aux règles. Attente et rythme ralenti sont les priorités. Mais j'avance! Les amitiés franco-kenyanes facilitent les démarches. Ici, c'est Aliette, la Française qui me propose les services du chauffeur familial et une jolie rencontre avec un artiste kenyan, Dinesh Revankar, illustrateur pour enfants. Là c'est Fridah, la Kenyane qui m'accompagne au service d'inscription au registre des ONG pour tenter de dénouer les fils potentiels de la corruption. Là c'est un haut responsable du réseau des bibliothèques kenyanes qui me propose un RV.... et pourquoi pas avec le directeur des services car notre idée de mobile library "en est une bonne". Après tout ça je retourne à Busia jeudi pour une autre tournée du taxi bibliobus.

French/kenyan relationship are improving. To go downtown Nairobi I received some helps.Fridah, young kenyan woman is coming with me to ONG council registration to be shure we are in the wright process. Aliette is presenting me her french friends, Nathalie Anne, Valerie who give me a hand, some kiswahili books for the mobile library, or the service of their driver to go from a kenyan library to another or to meet a kenyan artist, Dinesh Revankar who draw pictures for children books.We are improving : next thursday go back to Busia.
